The Need for Speed

Inspired by the C8.R race car and Le Mans prototypes, this vehicle is actually the first electric all-wheel drive (complete with a self-charging 1.9 kWh lithium-ion battery) and features a 0-60 time of 2.5 seconds — the fastest ever. It works in tandem with its LT2 V8 engine, showcases an impressive 495 horsepower (plus 160 horsepower from the e-AWD) and sends 470 pound feet of torque to the rear wheels so that it performs well on both road and track. The electric motor adds an additional 125 pound feet of torque to the front wheels. And the drive is smooth, too. The standard 8-speed dual-clutch transmission allows quick shifts and shorter lap times, while the variable Drive Style Index senses your every move to respond efficiently and precisely when you need it. It basically senses your driver inputs and responds with gear holds and downshifts when you expect them.

The E-Ray is unique in that it offers standard all-season tires and a Magnetic Selective Ride Control, which allows the wheels to stay in contact with the pavement better to help traction in any mode.
