Arguably the top performance feature on the new Corvette is the engine placement. The eighth generation of Corvette is the first to feature the engine in the middle of the car. This improves weight and balance and makes the Corvette a dream to drive in the corners and on the straights.

The engine is a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine that, when equipped with the Z51 performance package, has 495 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque. The dual-mode performance exhaust helps this giant V8 roar and get the hot air out of the engine faster to make the 0-60 time drop to just 2.9 seconds when launch control is engaged. The ZF eight-speed automatic grabs gears quickly and smoothly as you rocket your way up to a top speed of 194 miles per hour.
