OU Softball Update!

Boomer Sooner! At Landers Chevrolet of Norman, we are proud partners of Sooner Athletics. We believe it’s important to support our community and show them our support! Our OU Sooners are champions at many sports (did you even have a doubt?) — football, basketball, softball, gymnastics and even rowing! Keep reading to see what’s ahead for our OU Softball team.

On April 11, our OU Softball team took game one against the University of Texas at McCombs Field! After this win, our OU women have won 29 straight games, which makes this the third-longest winning streak in program history! CRAZY RIGHT? Our girls have 35 straight Big 12 wins, also making this a conference record. Also to mention — OU now claims 16 consecutive wins against the University of Texas.

Going into the first game, OU head coach Patty Gasso stated how important it was for her girls to take this first win as it eases everyone’s minds going forward. Giselle Juarez was a hidden gem during the game. She pitched against the 11th-ranked Longhorns, even striking out 10 players for her sixth game of the season. Giselle ended up undefeated for the year. Other stars were seniors Sydney Romero and Kylie Lundberg, who both had runs in the opener. Others included Falepolima Aviu and Jocelyn Alo. As the game progressed, Oklahoma took the lead in the top of the fifth and ended the game with a victorious WIN!
