OU draws business leaders, entrepreneurs for 3rd Annual Entrepreneur Expo

As big supporters of the University of Oklahoma, everyone here at Landers Chevy of Norman loves the energy and enthusiasm that flows into our local community from the campus at OU. That includes in our local business community, where OU is both a thought leader and an economic generator, helping to launch discussion, innovation, and hundreds of millions of dollars per year in local investment.

If you are an entrepreneur, business owner, or hope to be one someday, then OU's Entrepreneur Expo is for you. A public exhibition for OU students, local business owners and entrepreneurs, including young future business leaders ages K-12, the Expo ran from November 16-18, entirely online. It was sponsored by OU's Michael F. Price College of Business’s Tom Love Division of Entrepreneurship and Economic Development.

“Building on the success and popularity of the first two Entrepreneurship Expos, this year’s online format greatly expands the opportunity for business owners and entrepreneurs to participate,” said Denise Parris, assistant professor of entrepreneurship.

Each applicant who presented at the Expo shared a short video describing their business. Selected videos were publicly shared on the OU Expo Youtube Channel in a series of divisions. A panel of judges chose the best business from each division, with prizes awarded to winners by both age group and category. Categories included unfunded start-ups and funded start-ups with under $100,000 in revenue to date, plus five age groups including elementary, junior, high-school, college students and adults.

“Each year, the Expo sparks innovation, relationships, sales and investment conversations,” Parris said. “It’s a campus-wide and community-wide initiative to build an ecosystem that enables and encourages the launching of successful ventures. The OU Entrepreneurship Expo is the place to get inspired and ignite your entrepreneurial spirit.”

We're always excited to see what participants come up with for the Expo, and to tune in as prizes are awarded. For more information about the Micheal F.
