Norman – Local Activities

Here at Landers Chevrolet of Norman, we love this community. From the people to the farmer’s markets, supporting our OU Sooner Athletics to local charities, we just love it here in Norman! There are so many activities to do within our community! Keep reading for some fun local activities to do in Norman Oklahoma.

Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History: Back in 1987, the Oklahoma Museum of Natural History was born! Today, the Oklahoma Museum of Natural History is a showcase for amazing exhibits that show the local area’s human cultural heritage. That includes amazing exhibits and educational programs for all ages that demonstrate and explain the natural history of the Oklahoma and the Norman region to help bring a greater understanding of the state we love! Right now until September 2, they’re featuring the “Under the Arctic” exhibit, with displays and activities related to life in the frozen north. Come see a mammoth tooth up close in person!

Riverwind Casino: We don’t really have to explain this one much, this is a great night for the adults, with fun entertainment, fine dining, concerts by your favorite entertainers and so much more.

National Weather Museum and Science Center: Oklahoma is known for our wild weather, and this is the place to learn more about it, see historical meteorological instruments and possibly even learn to be a meteorologist yourself!

Lake Thunderbird State Park: Calling our outdoor adventure seekers! This state park has so much to offer, with a variety of water activities and recreation. The park has two main marinas, nine boat ramps and even two swimming beaches, which adds up to loads of summer fun for the entire family.
