Five 2021 Chevy models chosen as 2021 Consumer Guide Automotive Best Buys

December 28th, 2020 by

Everybody wants to find a great deal, and when it comes to building affordable, reliable, capable vehicles to fit your budget no matter what your price range, nobody does that better than Chevrolet. That's not just us talking, either. Recently, the influential online customer resource Consumer Guide released their slate of 2021 Automotive Best Buy Award winners. Chevy was represented in their rankings well, with five 2021 Chevrolet models singled out for being a best-in-class value for customers.

One of the most influential consumer reference resources, Consumer Guide has been releasing their annual slate of Automotive Best Buys every fall since 1949, helping Americans get the most value out of their hard-earned money when it comes time to go vehicle shopping. In addition to testing dozens of vehicles in controlled conditions, the evaluation procedure to determine what is a "Best Buy" includes weeks of real-world driving as well as evaluating each vehicle for build quality, performance, value-for-dollar and more. Because of the rigorousness of the testing performed, the awards are closely watched by the automotive industry to determine which automakers are giving customers the best "bang for their buck."

The 2021 Chevrolet vehicles selected as 2021 Consumer Guide Automotive Best Buys are:

2021 Chevy Bolt
CLASS: Electric Vehicle
STARTING PRICE: $36,620
Why Consumer Guide Rated It A Best Buy: "By most any measure, the Bolt EV is a breakthrough vehicle. Its 259-mile estimated driving range and relatively affordable pricing are the headline grabbers, but the Bolt’s space-efficient interior, peppy acceleration, and feature-rich control interface are also noteworthy. The Bolt EV makes the prospect of owning an electric vehicle plausible—and desirable—for a much broader swath of the car-buying public."

2021 Chevy Colorado
CLASS: Compact Pickup
STARTING PRICE: $25,200
Why Consumer Guide Rated It A Best Buy: "The Chevrolet Colorado faces strong competition, but continues to achieve Best Buy status because of a broad model lineup, the available diesel engine, and the availability of a full-time 4WD system on the ZR2…. The Colorado ZR2 models should satisfy off-road enthusiasts as compelling rivals to the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro."

2021 Chevy Tahoe/Suburban
CLASS: Full-Size SUV
STARTING PRICE: Tahoe $49,000, Suburban $51,700
Why Consumer Guide Rated It A Best Buy: "The large SUV class is for shoppers who need maximum passenger and cargo capacity, and off-road/towing capabilities as well. The downsides of poor fuel economy, cumbersome exterior dimensions, and a 'truck-y' ride are usually part of the bargain, but the new Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban are surprisingly easy to drive for their size, and they offer much-improved all-around refinement and a long list of nicely designed technology and convenience features.

2021 Chevy Corvette C8
CLASS: Premium Sporty/Performance Cars
STARTING PRICE: $58,900
Why Consumer Guide Rated It A Best Buy: "Chevrolet engineers took on a monumental task in reimagining the Corvette as a mid-engine vehicle while staying true to the styling and engineering character, relative practicality, and relatively affordable pricing that have long been Corvette trademarks. By our account, they’ve succeeded with flying colors. To get anything approaching the Corvette’s level of acceleration/handling performance and exotic-car feel, you’d have to spend tens of thousands more. And despite the Corvette’s supercar design, it’s reasonably practical and comfortable in everyday driving, boasting a broad range of available comfort and convenience features and enough luggage space for an extended weekend getaway for two."
