Chevy debuts all-electric 2022 Bolt EUV

February 2nd, 2021 by

Last month, General Motors announced an ambitious goal that will contribute to a cleaner, greener future for us all: a plan to make all their vehicle manufacturing plants “carbon neutral,” 2040, and to phase out all light-duty gasoline and diesel GM vehicles by 2035.

With the clock ticking to design, build and market the more than 30 electric cars, trucks, vans and SUVs needed to fulfill that goal, Chevrolet took a huge step in that direction on February 14 with the debut of the all-new 2022 Bolt “EUV,” an affordable, all-electric compact SUV that promises to help the redesigned 2022 Bolt sedan lead the way to GM’s all-electric future. With a sleek look, a range of 250 miles on a single charge, and a starting price of $33,995, the 2022 Bolt EUV is not only a game-changer for Chevy, it’s going to be a game-changer for the way hundreds of thousands of American families drive.
“The new Bolt EUV is the best of the Bolt EV packaged in an SUV-like vehicle with more technology and features, giving customers more choices and reasons to switch to electric,” said Steve Hill, vice president of Chevrolet. “This is an opportunity for Chevy to capitalize on the success we’ve built with the Bolt EV and bring new customers into the Chevy family.”

Following in the footsteps of sharp and aggressive Chevrolet SUV designs like the 2021 Chevy Blazer, Trailblazer and Traverse, the Bolt EUV features the perfect mix of modern styling and muscular exterior design, with a sculpted grille, signature LED headlamps and Chevy’s brand-specific, high-eye daytime running lamps, which slickly change their color on demand to become turn-signals. Inside, careful use of space and compact battery designs mean the 2021 Chevy Bolt EUV is one of the roomiest compact SUVs on the market.

In addition to loads of style, the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV is also easy to use and easy to charge, thanks to GM’s Dual Level Charge Cord, which can eliminate the need to purchase a separate home-based charger. The cord has a unique changeable plug that allows Bolt EUV owners to either plug into a standard, 120-volt three-prong wall outlet, or — for faster charging — a 240-volt outlet similar to those used by an electric clothes dryer or stove.

Charging on the go is easier too, thanks to GM’s partnership with EVgo, the national largest public fast-charging network. Finding any of the more than 80,000 Bolt EUV-compatible charging stations in North America is easy thanks to the new “Energy” feature of the myChevrolet app, accessible through the Bolt EUV’s in-dash touchscreen. In addition, GM and EVgo plan to more than triple the number of public charging stations in the U.S. by the end of 2025. Utilizing a high-voltage charger, the 2022 Bolt EUV can add up to 95 miles of range per 30 minutes of charging time.

As if that wasn’t more than enough technology for any one vehicle, the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV will also be the first Chevrolet vehicle to feature available Super Cruise, GM’s hands-free automated driving system, which lets you sit back and let your Bolt drive on over 200,000 miles of compatible highways in the U.S. and Canada.
To help celebrate the introduction of the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV, Chevy plants to offer a special, limited-run “Launch Edition” that includes Super Cruise, a panoramic sunroof, unique badging, specific alloy wheels, and an illuminated charging port. The Launch Edition has a starting price of $43,495, and can be reserved right now at chevrolet.com
