Corvette Z06 Makes its Way to Norman

May 19th, 2022 by

Whether you’re in love with the bright orange paint or you’re more into the usual colors, we can all agree that the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is a performance car worth the hype. Designed down to the smallest detail to blend functionality and efficiency, the Corvette Z06 is a beautiful car at first glance and an unforgettable vehicle when one takes a closer look.

At Landers Chevrolet of Norman, Oklahoma, we got the chance to host one of roughly 140 stops on the 2023 Corvette Z06 Road Show. So, we got to take that closer look at the sleek exterior and powerful engine under the hood of the new Vette. The Corvette and its entourage showed up around 9 a.m. and within an hour and a half, the showroom was set up perfectly for visitors to learn more about the Z06. From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2022, we invited everyone to come to check out the 2023 Corvette Z06 with us! The hope was to announce the numerous Z06s available for order and to celebrate 70 years of Corvette on top of admiring the Z06’s details up close and personal.

Feel the urge to hear how the 2023 Corvette Z06 sounds?

So, what did we have the chance to witness in person?

“Z06” was originally a code for special features you could add to the Corvette in 1963. Knowledge of this extreme racing upgrade was only spread by word of mouth. Going from a backroom code for a performance-oriented 1963 Corvette to one of the most anticipated Chevys to hit the market, the Z06 has come a long way in eight generations. Made to go faster, stop quicker, and all-around to be better, the Corvette Z06 is always reaching for the peak of performance. The next generation then pushes those limits.

The 2023 Corvette Z06’s design leans on optimizing grip and control with a wider stance and re-evaluated center of gravity. The front fascia on the Chevy Corvette Z06 is 3.6-inches wider than on the Chevy Corvette Stingray. The improved aerodynamics can be attributed to the availability of Carbon-Fiber Ground Effects, Carbon-Fiber Spoiler, and Carbon-Fiber Wing options. Made for speed, even small angles and design choices matter with it comes to the Corvette Z06.

Under the hood, you can find a flat-plane V8 engine with 670 horsepower and 8,600 RPM. A flat-plane engine typically shows up in high-end or racing vehicles. Typical American muscle cars have a cross-plane. You can notice the difference even when the car is parked and not looking at the engine directly. You can hear it in the whine of the engine as it’s revved up. Because a flat-plane V8 engine is so lightweight, acceleration increases quicker.

With the engine in the back and false sound-reflecting exhaust tips, you can hear the engine throughout the cabin. The engine purr will surround you, which submits the fact that you’re driving a powerful car. Want that kick of speed? Go from zero to 60 in 2.6 seconds. The precision and power make any road feel like a race track.

Other features you can choose to equip your Corvette Z06 with include:

  • Removable roof panel
  • Color head-up display
  • Bose premium 10-speaker audio system or a Bose Performance Series 14-speaker audio system
  • Heated and ventilated seats
  • Memory settings for driver and passenger seats
  • Eight interior color options
  • Retractable hardtop
  • GT2 seats with Napa leather and carbon-fiber trim

While Chevrolet may have put the Corvette Z06 together, you’re the one who will drive it. Choose which features will make the driving experience that much more enjoyable.

See which Corvettes are waiting for you on the lot!

Thank you to everyone who came and visited us at Landers Chevrolet of Norman on May 19th! We had a great time ogling this awesome car!
