2021 Corvette C8 is now available on Forza Horizon 4 for Xbox, PC
The mid-engine 2021 Chevy Corvette C8 is pretty much the world's most affordable modern supercar, starting at just $58,900 for the 2021 Corvette Stingray coupe. By comparison, the comparable, mid-engine, much more temperamental Ferrari 458 will set you back a cool $300,000 if you can find one for sale.
Even at the 2021 Corvette's relatively low price point, however, not all of us can afford a C8 of our very own. Good news for the rest of us, however! The legendary racing game series Forza Horizon just announced that, due to unprecedented demand from Chevy fans, the 2021 Corvette C8 Stingray will now be featured on Forza Horizon 4, as of January 14.
Launched on the Xbox 360 in 2012 by Playground Games as a spin-off to the popular Forza Motorsports series, Forza Horizon was an instant hit with virtual racing fans, who praised the game for its realistic physics and real-world detail. The success of Forza Horizon launched the series, with Forza Horizon 2 launched in 2014, Forza Horizon 3 in 2016, and the current Forza Horizon 4 launched in 2018. It's only available on Xbox One and Microsoft Windows PC.
Set in a virtual, open-world version of the United Kingdom, including fictionalized versions of Edinburgh, Ambleside and Cotswolds, Forza Horizon 4 currently includes over 700 different cars a player can drive, each with realistic engine noise, acceleration, handling, aerodynamics, interiors, exteriors and more. Drivers in the game must contend with realistic challenges, including weather and realistic physics.
With 495 horsepower on tap from the standard 6.2-liter LT2 V8, the 2021 Corvette C8 — the most powerful entry-level Corvette ever — a near-perfect performance weight balance, and the ability to rocket zero-to-60 in under three seconds, the 2021 Chevy Corvette C8 should be a formidable contender. Too, now that the ice has been broken, Forza Horizon fans can likely expect additional models of the C8 to follow, including the racing Corvette C8.R and the forthcoming Corvette C8 Z06, which will be released later this year.
With the addition of the 2021 Corvette C8 Stingray coupe, there are currently over 20 Chevrolet vehicles you can "drive" in Forza Horizon 4. That includes many of the Bowtie Brand's most iconic vehicles, including the 2016 Camaro, 2009 Corvette ZR1, 1995 Corvette ZR1, 1970 Corvette ZR1, 1988 Monte Carlo, 1969 Nova SS, 1964 Chevy Impala SS 409, 1960 Chevy Corvette, 1970 Chevelle SS 454, 1957 Chevy Bel Air, and the Corvette that started it all: the 1953 Chevy Corvette C1.
Whether we'll ever be able to afford to buy a 2021 Corvette C8 Stingray at Landers Chevy of Norman or not, we're itching to get our hands on the virtual version of the C8 in Forza Horizon 4 to really see what that baby can do without worrying about scratching that beautiful paint. If you've got a deep enough checkbook to buy the real thing, however, that works too. Come see us, and let's turn your digital dreams into mid-engine reality, at Landers Chevy of Norman! Happy Forza-ing!
