OU Soccer Updates

Boomer Sooner! At Landers Chevrolet of Norman, we are proud partners of OU Sooner Athletics, because we believe it's important to be an integral part of our community. That includes showing our support for our hometown teams! Our OU Sooners are champions at many sports (did you even have a doubt?) including football, basketball, softball, gymnastics and even rowing! Keep reading to see what’s ahead for our OU Soccer team.

With the school year starting back up, that can only mean one thing: IT’S GAME TIME! I know we all love summer, but we also love supporting our OU Sooners Athletics anyway we can. Back in June, head soccer coach Matt Potter released OU Soccer schedule. Our awesome Sooners will play 19 regular season games, including eight home games at John Crain Field.

“The 2019 schedule reflects the ambition and expectations of being part of OU Athletics,” Potter states. “The traditions of competing on the biggest of stages are what our athletes look forward to and [assistant coach] Paul [Hart] has put together a schedule that challenges us as competitors, players and staff.”

The OU soccer season will open against the 2018 America East Champion Albany on August 22. After that, the Sooners will travel to SEC opponent Arkansas on Sunday, August 25 for the Razorback home opener.

Toward the end of the season for non-conference play, our Sooners will be paired against Nebraska in September. The non-conference schedule will end against teams from the American Athletic Conference. Conference games will look a tad different. Instead of games being on a Friday/Saturday schedule they will be played on Thursday/Sunday. So be sure to add the dates to your calendar so you don’t miss a beat.

Here at Landers Chevrolet of Norman we cannot wait to cheer on our Sooners this game season! Mark your calendars because you won’t want to miss it.
