Chevrolet Lets You Check-In with Family and Friends with New Vehicle Locate Feature

Chevrolet is making it easier to let your friends and family know that you are safe with the all-new Vehicle Locate feature. The newly updated myChevrolet app replaces Chevrolet’s existing Family Link service that was solely web-based, and provides more connectivity and easier access to information on the go. The Vehicle Locate feature automatically sends a text alert to family and friends whenever the connected vehicle either arrives or leaves from an address or it enters or leaves a designated boundary. It will also allow drivers to pinpoint the exact location of their car at any given time.

Alejandra Gonzalez, product manager of remote services at Chevrolet, explained, “At Chevrolet we aim to make our drivers’ lives easier through smart and purposeful technologies. Vehicle Locate provides both drivers and their loved ones with peace of mind in a variety of different drive-related scenarios.”

Ideally, this new feature can be used for more than just families and will be available for owners of an eligible 2012 Chevrolet model or newer in the United States, Canada and Mexico. If you’re a regular commuter, Vehicle Locate will let your loved ones know when you’ve made it safely to and from work. Teenagers driving can be a truly unnerving experience for parents, which is why Vehicle Locate will let worried adults know where their teen is at all times. Dating can be an exciting time, but it can also have friends anxious about your well-being. Thanks to Vehicle Locate, your friends will be alerted when you make it home from an evening out automatically. And if you’re the Silverado owner who likes to let your friends borrow your truck for heavy-lifting, Vehicle Locate ensures you know your trusty truck’s whereabouts no matter where your friends may go.
